Chinua Achebe |
Chinua Achebe (1930 - ) was educated at the University College of Ibadan, Nigeria. He wrote Things Fall Apart (1958), partly in response to what he saw as inaccurate characterisations of Africa and Africans by British authors.
His other novels in Modern Classics are Anthills of the Savannah and A Man of the People. He is now a professor at Bard College, New York.
Chinua Achebe won the International Man Booker Prize in 2007 for Things Fall Apart.
